Task (Image Analysis)

We were given a task to find an image of any sorts and analysis it's content and give out discussion based on our findings. The image above is the image I've chosen to do the analysis on, it is a photoshoot for a magazine.

My analysis:

Subject: Surrealism

Context:

The colour used is plain and bright to enable easy find on the main focal point.
The main focus is the bag not the clothing or the model.
The tree is a prop to make balance between the top and bottom half of the image.
The model proportion is align with the columns in the background.
One of the tree branch is invading the bottom half of the image to give a connection between the top half and bottom half.

Task (Analysis)

The analysis for the website of the Honda Civic Car Club is that it is a website design solely for the usage of car lovers and not for average person to use because of its theme. The multiple shapes of cars uses may annoy most users but not car lovers.

The website is designed for the Honda Civic Car Club members therefore the functionality and design flow are more bias on that side, however it still can be improved by changing some of the ways the layout is used
For example, the car shapes used for the website context box can be changed to less car like shaped but not entirely square, a rounded kind of shape of a car. That way other users, like non members can also use the website and this can be seen as a way to get new members into the club without much promoting the new member would come to the website find it interesting and joins.

The one thing this website has problem with is the colour usage, the colour combination is the website is slightly below average. Something kinda like from a cartoon world where the flow is all mixed up. The colour makes the website looks weird in a way, and also kinda makes it less interesting.

The website also use repeating props and objects in the design this may also make it look corporate like in a sense. This is something the website should not follow, it should be more experimental and more dynamic then just a simple and plain website like a normal corporate websites, this website stand in between that the dynamic and complex design and simple plain corporate websites.
